2. Scope
This policy applies to:
All Nexora Academy staff, trainers, and contractors.
Participants in courses, events, or workshops, both in-person and online.
Visitors to Nexora Academy premises or external venues used for our activities.
3. Responsibilities
Management
Ensure that appropriate health and safety measures are in place.
Conduct regular risk assessments for all activities, venues, and equipment.
Provide training and resources to staff to uphold health and safety standards.
Staff and Trainers
Follow all health and safety procedures.
Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly.
Ensure that participants are briefed on relevant health and safety measures during courses or events.
Participants and Visitors
Comply with all health and safety instructions provided by Nexora Academy staff.
Notify staff of any health or safety concerns immediately.
Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
4. Risk Assessments
We conduct risk assessments for all activities to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls. These include:
Assessing venues and equipment for suitability and safety.
Evaluating the needs of participants, including accessibility and medical requirements.
Reviewing emergency procedures for each activity.
5. First Aid and Emergency Procedures
First aid kits are available at all in-person training locations.
Designated first aiders will be present during activities where required.
Emergency procedures, including fire evacuation plans, will be communicated at the start of each in-person session.
6. Online Safety
For online courses and activities, we are committed to:
Protecting participants from cyber threats or inappropriate behaviour.
Providing clear guidance on using online platforms safely.
Monitoring sessions to ensure a respectful and secure environment.
7. Reporting Incidents
All accidents, incidents, or near-misses must be reported immediately to Nexora Academy staff.
Reports should include details of the incident, location, time, and any injuries or damage.
We will investigate all incidents to identify causes and prevent recurrence.
8. Review and Updates
This Health & Safety Policy is reviewed annually or in response to significant changes in legislation or our operations. Updates will be communicated to all staff and made available to participants.
